Refugees welcome here

Brighton says yes.

Our refugee friends and neighbours are part of our community. We will fight to keep them with us.

The Home Office is trying to force refugees out of our city.

It plans to close the hotel where families and single women seeking asylum are being housed.

These are our friends and neighbours. They have come to our city seeking shelter, and feel safe here. Babies have been born here, children go to school here, people have made friendships, volunteered, found a place to call home. Become part of our community.

Now they are being scattered to unknown destinations across the UK. Including isolated accommodation in towns where people are under attack from the far right.

We will not let this happen. We are a coalition of Brighton residents and community groups who have pledged to keep our neighbours in Brighton.

We will do whatever we can to find good, safe housing for our neighbours. Our city, with all its empty investment properties and AirBnBs, cannot be too “rich” to shelter those who have nothing.

Together we can do this. Join us.
